Misconception on Cross-dressing
Cross-dressing is not equal to transgender!
Some cross-dressers are not transgenders. A number of cross-dressers do not want to change their bodies medically as they may not want to be the opposite gender. Furthermore, they may not want to adopt the behaviors of the opposite gender.
Differences:
Cross-dresser is a person who dresses like the opposite gender.
Transgender is a person who has a gender identity of one sex which is not his or her biologically assigned sex.
Cross-dresser does not equal to homosexual!
Some homosexuals are cross-dressers, but not all of the cross-dressers are homosexuals. Actually, most cross-dressers are heterosexual. Approximately seventy per cent of them are married and have children.
People's view on cross-dressing:
As some of societies still think that cross-dressing is unacceptable, it is rather odd if an ordinary parson, especially the older generation, discovers a person who cross-dresses. Therefore, it is very common that cross-dressers try to suppress their feelings and actions.
